How come in longer daily games, I can’t claim a win, when my opponents time has run over on the app, but I can claim on the actual site, through a browser?

You automatically win when your opponent times out.

Precisely. Time forfeit is noticed automatically.

Is that a new amended thing? Because it never used to. Always had to access a browser on my phone and claim a win that way.

The reason you can't claim a win on the app when your opponent's time runs out in longer daily games, but can on the website, is usually due to a specific setting in your account preferences on the chess platform's website. Daily game timeouts often don't auto-claim by default. To fix this, log into the website, find your Daily Chess settings, and enable the option to "Automatically claim victory when time runs out" or look for a "Claim Win" button there; the app often defers to these web-based settings. You gain the rating automatically, but it says you win and shows the new rating when you click

It depends in your settings. There's an auto-claim on timeout setting, in the website. If you enable that games will automatically claim, even on the apps.

The apps have slightly different settings and features than the website but aom not sure why that one isn't on the app or the claim option isn't on Daily games.
