Disappearing game?

I was playing a live game on mobile and suddenly it dissapeared. I was back on the chess.com app homescreen with no warning. I refreshed several times and couldn't find the game in my history. After a few minutes it showed up as "abandoned". This is infuriating. I certainly didn't abandon the game. Does anyone know what could have caused this and what I can do to prevent it from happening again in the future? I'm certain that my internet connection is stable.

Anyone connecting via WiFi can lose their connection temporarily. Your phone can decide to update at any moment. There are numerous processes running.
Playing over a wired connection is the only way to make relatively sure it doesn't happen.
