Certainly, the loss of rating points is annoying. After all, we didn't actually lose the game by our play, but by a cause not totally within our control. But simply changing disconnection consequence to no ratings points lost would encourage bad behavior such as players in a losing position to simply generate a disconnection, radically distorting play in a manner that would be grossly unfair.
The new version of Live Chess, due out in a few weeks from what erik has said, should reduce the disconnection problems so much that we will all forget about the beta version in a hurry.
Does everyone agree, that when you disconnect from live chess, that you shouldn't lose points from the game that you were in?
