How about the "resign" button?
Fair Play Policy violations - unknowingly using the abort button to resign
On my screen, I can't even see an abort button. However, close to the start button, there is a Resign Button. I think using that button is what you need to use. BTW, where is the abort button located?
It is right next to the "Draw" button. This pair is below the points, where it tells you which pieces you and your opponent have lost so far.
Hey guys, I was wondering if there is something I can do about this offense. I would use the abort option to resign a game occasionally because I never saw another way to forfeit a game. I understand sticking it out when you can but sometimes it is just humiliating. Does anyone know of another way to forfeit from a live game without breaking this policy?
I can provide some examples of the types of games I call humiliation if needed lol.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying? There's no way to use the abort option to resign a game. At the beginning of each game you have the draw button and the abort button next to the game, and you can abort if you want. But as soon as black plays his first move, the abort button changes into the resign button, so at least according to my knowledge, there is no way to resign by aborting.
And, on a side note...
Although the "draw" button is available from the beginning of each game, that doesn't mean that if you're rated significantly lower than your opponent, you should offer a draw before making any moves, and hope that your opponent will accept it!!! I've had that happen quite a few times. Usually, when I decline the draw, my opponent aborts.
