how can game aborted

I was nearly win the game ,and his queen have a place to move and I was +4 then game turn to be aborted how this happen
The server of chess.com got an update or restarted. This happens once in a while and all games played at that time will be aborted
What a bs reason. It happened to me to just this minute. I dont buy it.
I agree, was just +8 and maybe two moves from winning. Then after opponent took a couple of minutes sizing up options suddenly game aborted. Seems like some sort of flaw to me....has never happened when I'm losing badly!

Played live and game aborted - just as I took the lead. Disappointing that this can happen. It does not happen in the Daily Chess format. This puts me off playing live.

This has happened to me 3 times recently, all with winning positions. Chess.com -- this ruins live play. Whatever loophole is being used, please close it. To you late game abort folks: I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed.
It is election fraud. File big lawsuit. Change the facts to suit your version of reality.

I think this happens when nobody plays for a while, like one minute.

There was a server restart. A big red banner appears with a 10 minute warning and a countdown (on my screen when it happens anyway). There is no vast conspiracy afoot to deny victory to those in winning positions. Conversely and unsurprisingly I never see any threads or comments from those who were spared defeat by this.

I was playing a tournament against someone 200 points higher. You know what he did? He sacked all his pieces, and I was confused. Then the game aborted because the tournament was over, and I realized that there was only like a minute left in the tournament. I found that funny and laughed.

The live server had a scheduled restart around the time you posted and all ongoing games during a restart are aborted.
