I know the feeling. However, I have never been rated as high as you were. I would love to eventually make 1300 - however, until I stop hanging pieces, it ain't gonna happen. I attribute this to not taking my time to really look at the board and what my opponent may be planning. It's easy for me to focus on just one idea, to the exclusion of all else. I am going to start using the site's "study plan," found under the "Learn" tab. It looks great. I hope you find the answer and wish you the best of luck.

I go up to over 1300 then down to maybe 1120 then ack up again.I don;t know what is going on here. No consistacy! I swear there are days where I could crush Kasparov, then there are days when I lose to everybody....maybe it is because I am 71. 25 years ago this didn't happen. I was up 1850 or so FIDE now I'm not sure what my OTB would be. I will just keep on playing I guess.
