The same problem has happened on my iPhone 3g. Does anyone have a solution? I miss playing live games.

This has happened on my iPhone 4 too. Sucks, because I find it easier to concentrate on the game when I'm playing on a smartphone as opposed to a computer.
While we're discussing the app, I just want to know: is it cross-platform (i.e. you can play live between a Windows machine and an iOS machine)? Or does the app have its own separate little playerbase.

The app allows you to play the same games/players as on the web, Android, Facebook, etc.
The bug, which affects Basic members on iPhone (but not iPad), has been fixed... in a build that is now sitting at Apple waiting to be reviewed. 
Sorry for your inconvenience. Hopefully, they will be quick.
After the recent upgrade of chess.com app for the ipod touch 5th gen, Live Chess link is blank and background is a faded black/gray chess board with the link for setting on the upper left hand corner that is very hard to access.
