Live Chess 30 min. 5 min time limit for move

I play 30 min live chess.  A number of times, when the opponent is definitely losing, like down a queen, etc. and having a lot of time left in the game, 15 min or so, they simply run the clock out while I just sit in front of my monitor twiddling my thumbs. 

Such a waste of time.  I could be playing someone else.

A solution to the problem with be to allow a player, besides setting time for a game like 30 min, to also specify that one should make a move with a certain time.  For a 30 min game, it seems to me, requiring a player to make a move within 5 min or else lose the game is reasonable.

That experience is why I don't play 30 0 games online. There have been previous threads expressing similar frustrations. Expect you will see people championing their right to use the clock as they want, like this one:
