Live Chess Tournaments?

Any word on live chess tournaments?  I know this topic has been discussed multiple times in the past on this forum, I was just wondering if there has been any improvements / regression.

Still hearing that they will be in october

Trying to keep this alive. Near end September now. Perhaps chess.com will give us a hint?

yeah, it would definitely be interesting as to how a live tournament would work etc...

I think live tournaments would definitely come closer to simulating OTB tournaments than anything else currently available. Its a great move by chess.com to make these happen !

Sounds exciting! What will be done to handle computer cheats? Obviously tournaments will be full of them since 80% of people over 2000 at blitz on here are cheats. 

Lol you have to look higher than 2000 blitz, most of us are 1800-2000 uscf strength players. Its when you start to cross into titled territory (2200-2400) that there are a higher percentage of cheaters. Also the standard time control is where you haveto really watch out, but if you think they are cheating you can just send in a ticket and theyll get their accounts banned if they really were cheating.

I wonder if this soon-to-be-introduced feature applies only to tournaments organised by chess.com or to all tournaments. Would be great if extended to team games, vote chess. Or is that asking for the impossible? :-)
