IPeople who play a game and abort before the game starts should also loose the relevant rating points in my opinion. I even played a guy who aborted immediately like this, and continued to select him from the graph afterwards, he aborted games with me 38 times no less!

While, I agree, this behavior is annoying, there is no point in -- or justification for -- trying to force a player to play an opponent he just doesn't want to...for whatever reason, rational or not.  Maybe he just doesn't like your nic....offends his religious sensibilities or some such.

As always, the great kohai has spoken, and answered all of the outstanding questions in the thread.

Now, if she would only state her waffle/pancake preference.

ahahaha, last time I had a waffle, I was in Germany, it was christmas time. The waffle was covered in icing sugar (not sure what its called in America). I remember breathing out through my nose too fast while trying to eat this waffle and covering the guy in front of me in the white dust. He wasn't impressed, I let out a chuckle and accidently covered him even more.

Not overly bothered by pancakes.

she still hasn't stated which she prefers, judging by the incident, Waffles.

But secretly we all know pancakes are better, simplicity is best

1st black move rating commencement does not apply in tournament ( rating ) games .

The abort button is gone after black makes its first move. The game then affects ratings (if its a rated game). The 'doesn't affect ratings till whites 4th move' doesn't apply any longer.

Many thanks for the chess.com staff for fixing this issue!

1. b4? c6! 2. Bb2 a5 3. a3 axb4 4. axb4 Rxa1 5. Bxa1 Qb6 6. c3 d5 and white can just dream for an openingt advantage. I prefer black in that position. Foot in Mouth
