If you want to play a specific person go to friends then press search friends search up the user you want to play click on their profile picture then click on there profile picture again that should now be on the top right edge and it will give you options click challenge and set your game and then wait for them to take your challenge
if you think about it, chess.com dont want you to pair random people up because like bruh, would you like to be paired up with a random player and be forced to play? So like, you have to have a chess.com staff to do it for you.
