OK, I tried a few more. I lose every single time. And I always have more material. Is it because it is my turn and I didn't have a chance to make a move? This makes no sense at all.
Need Info! How does Live Chess work?
You're playing 1|0 that means each side has 1 minute for ALL of their moves and there is no time increment.
You are losing on time because your minute is running out.
You might want to try something more like 30|0 where each side has 30 minutes to make all of their moves.
Because my clock runs out before my opponent's? That isn't chess. That's just rubbish. Thanks for letting me know how it works.
That is chess. All tournament chess across the world has some kind of time restraint. Time management is a big part of chess.
There are long tournaments where each side typically will end up with over an hour or two for all of their moves. And there is rapid chess with only a very short time for all the moves.
I tried Live Chess. I played 3 games (each game at 1 - 0). The first game I lost a knight and took a bishop...but then it said my opponent "won on time". I don't know what that means. I was white and the game ended on 8 full moves (it was my move next and didn't quite make it). How is the winner determined, exactly? If the material exchange was even then why did I lose?
My 2nd attempt I lost a ton of material but the game itself certainly wasn't over; I assumed I lost based on material.
My 3rd game I won with check-mate in 12 moves so I don't question that one.
But that first one made no sense to me. It's fun but I don't get it. Can someone please be so kind as to explain how the winner is determined? Gracias!
