Outgoing Rating Range Does NOT work

PLEASE DO NOT respond to this question by posting this link: https://www.chess.com/settings/live

I've read multiple posts asking the same question I have, and no matter how many times people explain that they have ALREADY TRIED THAT, it keeps getting repeated over and over as a "solution".

So if you have found an ACTUAL FIX for this, I would greatly appreciate seeing it.:

My Rating is 230 in Blitz games. I set the Outgoing Challenge range to +/- 50, but continually get matched up against Opponents with a rating 200+ higher than mine (definitely not helping me climb above this lousy rating level). Why is it ignoring the 50 point range?

Thanks in advance.

It could be, at the time of your challenge there wasn't any players within the required range, so you were matched with the closest player to your requirement.

OK, is there a way to “insist” on using the range? I understand it is likely to significantly increase the wait time, but I would at least like the option, not to mention being made aware of that in advance before getting  my behind kicked numerous times ( I don’t like bailing out on it once someone has accepted).

Thanks for the reply.

The only way I know is the way you've already done it, setting a range on settings.

OK, I think you are right, thanks.

I have since switched to watching the Open Challenges and waiting until someone pops up with a more realistic Rating for me.

I have no problem doing that, but I don't understand why all of the Help pages neglect to fully explain what's really going on with the Outgoing Rating range.
