Um...I'm super GM strength now?
Congrats! That's what you get for being the highest rated live standard player on the site before the switch.

Also, they should increase the RD of all players because of the inaccuracy of the way they have inflated the pool.

yes... this graduated rise make absolutely no sense whatsoever...

You would be ranked 7th in the world, between Anand and Giri.
im not interested in any boost really, i just want to play with opponents with the same level as i am
Me too and I think this is supposed to be the main purpose of the rating systems. I don't know why it's a problem if the ratings here differ from OTB ratings. It's the same with other chess servers. This is probably just a natural result of different player pools and some other differences. I guess after a while the ratings will be out of sync again despite the boost.

They'll already be out of synch... each of those rating bands will be more sparsely populated.
A more sensible approach, if the site felt there really was a need for the inflation, would be to add, say, 10 or 15% to each grade... 10% would probably do the trick
Why is chess.com so rattled that the standard site is possibly 100 points lower than OTB? Isn't it all relative anyway? If every player is below their actual rating, isn't the competition relatively the same? And if so, how will this in any way benefit anyone?
Since this site is not a sanctioned rating for FIDE or USCF, then it becomes just a number. So no matter if I'm 500 or 1500, as long as those I measure up with have similar ratings, then this implementation doesn't quite make sense.
If the number doesn't matter, then let staff "boost" or dock at will.
But can you imagine the chatter if they had reduced everyone's rating?

The number doesn't matter, but the relationship between them does i.e. the part they changed.
The difference between two ratings is a factor of the win percentages, and if it's altered arbitrarily they become useless.
What they don't seem to understand is that if the higher rated players aren't as high rated as they believe they should, it's because they don't win enough games against the lower rated players to justify it.
You can't just randomly raise their ratings more than the rest of the pool.
Wow, I dreamed today that I had been beaten by a low rated player, that I was playing a 15 minute game and I never do that, and he nailed me somehow and I had lost a ton of rating. Haha, amazing. I was then semi awake in my dream and I was battling if it was a dream or not. Wow! The opposite of that happened!! It was today that I dreamt that. A coincidence? Amazing, thanks for this chess.com, it was already worth it! Now that's a story, for me at least!! hehe
