That would be unfair. A player should be able to use as much of their time as they wish.
Time abusing
how do you know he left his computer? if you dont like that kind of thing happening dont play 30 min games...
Its not unfair, you cant take 30 min in a move. i think 10 minutes its a lot of time for just a move.... if 10 minutes its too little, at least put a limit in 15min
P.S. - I recently abandoned two games where my opponent was obviously a lag cheater. You can't win, if your opponents clock consistently runs backwards.
Sure you can. Play good moves.
Who needs more than 10 minutes for a move? Even in a long game?
I'd say the majority of serious otb-ers, if they've had much experience.
Also, this being online, the opponent may have had to answer the door.
Just live with the TCs you started the game with.
Lmao at the people saying "10 minutes a move is rediculous." I can't even tell if you're trolling or actually being serious. Honestly, play some real OTB chess some time, and then tell me 10 minutes a move is rediculous.
A 30 minute game is a 30 minute game, period. It's annoying when idiots walk away, but they have the right to do so. I've dealt with it multiple times myself, and that's just the way it is. If you don't take internet chess seriously enough to think 10 minutes a move in a G/60 with 30 second increment is unthinkable, go play blitz with the rest of the people who couldn't care less, and you won't have the problem.
It's not a ridiculous suggestion. Yahoo used to have a maximum 10 min move. I mean who needs more than 10 min for a move even in an unlimited or long game? We're not playing for a championship, it's internet chess.
this is not yahoo chess, this is chess.com
An excellent point RetGuvvie98.
While i was playing a 30 minutes game, a player just went and leaved he's computer in the middle of the game. To avoid this, the game should kick a player when she/he hasn't made a move in 8-10min.
