Time in Live Chess?

Just a question to consider: How much time should each player be given in a game of Live Chess? Personally, I do better in faster paced games but they can't be so fast that I can't think before my move.

for a decent standard game, I like to play Game/15.  15 minutes seems to be popular.

Sometimes I don't have 15 minutes to play a game. Have you ever played a "blitz" game of 5 minutes or less? Sometimes that works for me.

You can play anywhere from 1 minute per side to over 2 hours. There are time controls with increments or delays. You can play games with multiple time controls, adding time after certain moves are reached.

There is no "right" time control.

Interesting. However, given my chess skills, it is easier for me to win be timeout than by checkmate.

Then and again, the right time amount depends on the chess player. Some players may require more or less time than others. For me, it would probably be less time.
