After a year I still have no idea what Live or Play is

I do not like the new set up.

"Play" is probably the worst name they could have conjured up.  It follows their years-long plan to whittle down larger phrases into succinct 1~2 syllable catch-all words (probably per some marketing genius fresh out of Harvard Business School that published some paper for a doctoral degree).  Play could mean anything, but this is the way of the Millennial.

No

I just tried "Play" again today.

Not only do I still have my 15-second THREAT timer, I see my opponents also have the 15-second THREAT timer.

@Erik -- why?  This is not how chess works.  If chess.com insists on pursuing this, I will stop playing "Live" chess.  Totally ridiculous.  The Auto-Timer itself needs to be abandoned!

TOTALLY AGREE!

For the newer live interface, go to "play > play" with a web browser. It will replace "play > live chess".

The only difference between “Live Chess” and “Play” is the analysis board. Plus the orange and green play and join buttons.

The annoying 15-second DEATH TIMER pop-up does not exist in "Live" chess.
