The CFCC is hosting another chess tournament from June 13-15th. Last time I went I had a great time! It’s a smaller tournament but still very good. I highly suggest going, and if you are, leave a comment!
Hello! I’m braaaaand new to chess, but trying to get more involved in the local community (Orlando native). So definitely nowhere near competition ready but will likely still attend just to mingle :)
If your account is as old as you’ve been playing chess than you’ve been making pretty good progress so far. If you want I can give you some tips to reach 1000

pity i cant play in it, pretty much training all of june for u2200 world open which i may very well end up being the favorite for. (last time i played this section in World open was almost a decade ago and didnt lose a single game then, im stronger now) May have even seen some of my fellow florida chess friends too. Lots of new faces in the florida scene though since i was last active . (strong kids just keep getting scarily younger)

no i mean 1v1 requests lmao
I also play chess and am in Orlando! They do chess at the libraries and i know about the chess club but I have not participated yet. Trying to get better but honestly playing bots is easier than people for some reason.
I suggest going to the Orlando Chess Association in celebration. I also suggest that you don’t play bots, it only makes you worse at playing humans, OCA is welcome to all skill levels and you’ll be able to find healthy competition there as well as learn a lot
