The West Orange Chess Club is hosting Spring Hexads. It's like quads, but groups of six. It's a five-game round-robin event held on five Tuesday evenings: May 16, 23, 30, and June 6 and 13. One game is played per week.
All games are G75 d5 and begin promptly at 7pm. This is a USCF-rated event; a USCF membership is required to play.
Players will be divided into groups of six according to rating. Larger groups may be necessary on occasion; prize money will be adjusted accordingly. Larger groups will be played Swiss-style.
Prizes: $60 (1st place), $30 (2nd place) per hexad based on six players.
The to participate is $25 ($20 for dues-paying club members). Dues for 2023 are $10 (just $5 for West Orange residents, anyone under 18, and anyone over 55). Players may opt to pay dues for 2023 thereby saving $5 off their entry fee.
Players may register online at....

... until May 16 at 5 p.m. In-person registration is also available on May 16 until 6:45 p.m. Anyone arriving / attempting to register after that time may not be admitted. We STRONGLY recommend registering in advance.
Bye are not available for round-robin hexads. One half-point bye per tournament is available for any section playing Swiss-style. Make-up games are not available for any group.
Questions, bye requests, and or notifications that one cannot attend a game should be phoned or texted Stephen Lorimor at 908-286-0720, or e-mailed to sdlorimor@comcast.net. Bye requests must be received by 5:00pm on the day of a game.
All games will take place at the West Orange Chess Club, located at the Toby Katz Community Center, 650 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange. (It's tricky to find -- take the access road between the high school and baseball fields. It's past the fields.)
