6 minutes + 1 second, a round number of seconds per mate :D
A kinda funny puzzle
I'm getting only 18 and not 19 as you suggest. The units moved (number of mates):
Pe2 (1), Qg2 (1), Kf3 (2), Bc5 (5), Ne8 (1), Pb7 (8), total 18.

Where is 19 mentioned? I don't see it or I'm missing something...
Is "6 minutes + 1 second, a round number of seconds per mate :D" code for 19 ??

You win! I had Bc5(6) but clearly Bd4 is no option!

6'1" = 361 seconds = 19 * 19 seconds.
Well I suppose he could've meant 1 mate in 361 seconds or 361 mates, but those would be silly. Actually, no, a unique mate in 1 would have been interesting too. Did make a couple of those directmates in this thread (amidst some clunky retros).
A puzzle with some other content:
In how many different ways ( notations ) can white mate black in the next move?
If you want it a bit more challenging set yourself a time limit of 30 seconds. I hope you have fun with it :)
