it is not the only one unique solution ^_^, this one can happen, two diagram shows failed to mate in 6 move and the other solution.
CrazyTactics, you are correct with your diagrams. :) Actually what I meant by one unique solution is that white only has one choice that is best on each turn. I do agree that black could have forced white to play a little differently. :)
Cool! Starting a puzzle with White in + is not something I've seen before.
I understand there is a protocol in puzzle design of only having pieces that have an effect. I think if b6 and h3 were off - and maybe even f2? - the puzzle would be the same.
