Can white win?
Good effort, JonnySleazy, but I need to reveal that the problem's solution is a forced mate. To that end, you'll need to choose a different first move.
bah i can't solve it =( ive tried a lotta variations lol, ive seen LOADS of these knight puzzles on the internet, hard they are. their patterns keep repeating, but there are alot of them =P its all about square control =(
this is the best ive done so far... and its not even forced! lol
you can see the knights in the starting position block the f2, f3, g2 and g3 squares, giving the sense that moving the king to block the g1 square is good, but Kf1 and you get e2+. that may be the correct way, manuevering the knights round to block the king even at g2 (the king moves to g2 the next move), but i dunno.

I will give you a hint: remember the "glorious knights" problem you posted in July? Well, this ends in pretty much the same way...
So you have the right idea about sacrificing one knight, but your first move must be different.
The position above calculates every last move black and white can make. In the first move white has 4 moves with his king to make. He can not move his knights obviously or the black king has more space to move around. The most logical move I concluded, would be Kf1 because this blocks the black king from the g1 square which is essential for promotion. After this, black only has two pawn moves. The logical one would be e2+. Now the white king will take. Black will want to take the g1 square. White will have to check black in order to stop black from promoting. Black will go to g2 in hopes of still promoting. From there on checkmate is inevitable.

Sorry, ChessFoLife, but after 4.Ne1+ black simply moves back to g1, not to h2... You have the beginning right though.
clues so far:
it ends with the king and pawn in the corner i think (i don't remember the "glorious knight" thing)
theres a knight sac
