Actually, I guess the knight on h5 is totally superfluous. taking that out would kill the qg7 mate.

Jschu, good puzzle when I played it through though I got some different moves still mate in four so I'm not sure how or if it changes anything. Also your mating move even though it works Qg7# is just I don't know more likely to be played I know thats what I tried in your original puzzle.

nice alternative, jamessaul!
I saw 2. Qxh8 and 3. Bf6+, but not Nf4#... I have trouble spotting knight mates...
I think the chess wizard allows you to put in variations...

good puzzle, but a little too obvious.
you should give a variation if black doesn't play Kxh1, although it would probably just be the same except for a hanging knight on h1...

I had thought about that but then the game would continue on with a black win.

Draw (hard)
The answer to my question may be there and I don't see it, but it is not popping out at me. Why doesn't the black queen take the white rook when they are across from one another, instead of bringing down the bishop?
Damn. How would you rate it in terms of difficulty? I'm not sure if white's having to keep black in perpetual check because of black's imminent mate makes it more or less obvious.
