Well I find it quite awkward that white's bishops gone and he still has his e and g pawns in their starting positions. And since white still has a rook and a bishop left, while black has only his king, I would say yes, white has promoted a pawn, maybe even more. Or black could just have been a retard.
I can't say however, to what white has promoted, nor do I have a clue as to how I can find out. I wait to be indulged.
So, I just found in a used bookstore a collection of deductive Chess Puzzles, which I thought I would share a few of here. That is to say, these aren't puzzles where you need to find the best move or what have you, but rather simply need to deduce what previous moves happened, or what piece should be on what position.
So, this is the first problem from the book, more an introduction to what kind of problems to expect. If you guys like these, I'll keep posting more of them.
Anyways, the question is, Has there been any promotion in this game? All you need to know about this position is that White is to move.
