Nope... there's only one mate in 1. If 1.dxc8Q, then Bg2

The goal is to mate in 1. These are not practical position, they are compositions to train your vision and/or calculation.

i would think that when the thread is named "hardest mate in 1" you should find the mate in 1

don't try too much... these can be very frustrating. A straightforward way is to try out all the possible checks by each piece and you'll find it in no time (well maybe it'll take some time).

Btw hope this isn't a really clever attempt at sarcasm (you never know). If it is then congrats for finding the move!
