Hello everybody,

I thought it should be a good idea to post here some problems of the, by regular problemsolvers well known Dutch International grandmaster in

chessproblemcomposer Jac. Haring. He made about 1500 jewels of chessproblems. I have a book about him with some 300 mates in two, and I was asking and got the permission from the editor to publish them on this site ( not at once !) I'll try to post every week one, and the week after while publishing number two, I'll give the solution . So, please do not correspond with me about these problems !

They are all beautyfull problems , in every kind of difficultydegree, so enjoy them ! Friendly greetings, Herman

I'm sure I'm missing something, because Qg6 looks like mate-in-1 to me...

Looks like it. Maybe the point is to find a forced mate in 2 regardless of quicker mates?

How many puzzles have you seen where the solution is NOT the fastest mate? Seems a little silly to me.

Maybe there isn't supposed to be a queen in the puzzle?

Without the queen, I can't see any mates in 2... only in 3.

Yes, you are right, this is a misser of course, although all the pieces were placed correct, but this problem is coming out of the introduction, and they are probably not computercontrolled, or otherwise it is a printer's error by the editor, I'll try to avoid this in the futur !

Many thanks for your comments,

friendly greetings,

Herman
