I think that when you start any chess game there is a possible mate between 9 and 72 moves, the difficulty is finding the right combination of moves that forces the mate, do you not agree?
Not necessarily. It's extremely likely that with proper play all games should lead to a draw.

I took a look, but to be honest I can't find one.
It can be speeded up, most trivially by noting that 6.Kf4 (instead of Kg5) transposes to the position after 8.Kf4. Great puzzle, very unique with that king ladder down the board.
