I think he means assume/assuming that black is on the bottom so the notation is that way. Black quite obviously is on the bottom though =P. Bf2+ Kf1 Bd3# does work in this case.

Yes, I was indeed attempting to clarify my notation. I am old enough to be raised on puzzles which were invariably white to move, white on bottom. Now, there is no rigid convention. You just posted one that was black-to-move but white on bottom, didn't you? At any rate, thanks for clarifying.

oh right yeh, well most people still notate the way (whites side) bottom left to top right; a1 - h8, or from blacks side, top right to bottom left, a1 - h8.
I didn't flip the board because when i made it, i saw it that way and so... i just didn't flip it. Sometimes it looks clearer from the other person's point of view, the offensive and defensive strategies can pop out more. Try it yourself on OTB (although mildly distracting, your opponents hardly going to go HEY, SIT DOWN against you is he/she lol).
