I suck at puzzles
Puzzles 🧩

I'm 2900 puzzle rating and honestly, there's one trick that helped me more than anything else:
Checks, captures, threats.
Start with checks. Examine all possible moves that put your opponent in check (including crazy sacrifices) and see if they lead anywhere.
Then move on to captures. Examine all possible ways in which you can capture an opponent's piece (including sacrifices like trading a queen for a knight).
Lastly, only once you've examined all checks and captures, look at threats. Start with mate in 1 threats, followed by forced checkmate threats, followed by threatening to win/trap a piece.
If you follow that process (checks, captures, threats), your puzzle rating should skyrocket.
My puzzle
Bad puzzle. I tried to play 9. Rdf1# and it said I'm wrong.
good puzzle, and yet, if a puzzle has two solutions, this does not mean that it should be criticized severely.

Nope. Bad puzzle.
1) Puzzles on this site should only have one solution. If multiple moves lead to a forced win, then the puzzle should simply end there.
2) If you're going to allow alternate solutions, at the very least, make sure that the main solution is the one that wins the fastest. To mark a mate in 1 as incorrect but a mate in 3 as correct is just a bad puzzle.

He he, there are chess problems where there can be two or even three solutions.
1) Not on this site. Every puzzle on this site has (or at least should have) exactly one solution only.
2) Knowing that this site only accepts 1 solution per puzzle, you should set the main solution to be the one that wins the fastest. The "alternate" solution should be the mate in 3, but the main solution should be the mate in 1.
I did use the checks captures etc. maybe I need to pay attention
also: why do people ALWAYS argue and that’s a bad puzzle

There are loads of tactics-help videos online, e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJIWbdoXLn8. Some streamers go through like 50 puzzles in survival mode, and discuss the logic in each one. Some of the intermediate lessons on here cover tactics and forcing moves. But doing the lessons on e.g., end-games is useful too, given how many puzzles are in those situations. Do the practice/unrated puzzles, and look at which ones have low success % for you and practice more of those to get familiar with the concepts.

Lichess has a great system to repeat puzzles you didn't solve. Also shows which the type of the puzzle you do better or worse.
So recently, it hit 1300 puzzles, as a low 700 and then my puzzle rating fell downhill about 60 points, if anybody has tips on these diabolical puzzles, please comment down below bcuz I really want to hit 1300
Thank you
