Please take a look at move 7 for white. Seems it's a nice move :)
vipera, how much of an advantage does white gain after Be6 ? Please check any submissions with an engine.
Christian Soldier - you have given an example of the classic Greco sacrifice. Please exclude any alternative advantageous moves with an engine after 2...Kg6 which is usually the critical line in Greco sacrifices.
Hi Katonas, here is a famous finish from everyone's favorite hypermodern, a Mate in 3:
in fact, if Black eats the rook White mates on Qxh5.
shoopi, a senior approver reviewed your last two problems.
He felt puzzle 94,
had a critical line which wasn't conclusive for a human
4.Kd1!? (instead of 4.Qc4)
4...Qxb2 5.Rg3 Qb1+ 6.Ke2 Rb2+ 7.Ke3 Qd3+ 8.Kf4 Qxg1 9.Kxe4,
and now black is winning most convincingly with the crazy smashing calm move 9...c6!! (diagram below)
The edited version I attempted doesn't run into these problems as much (pure luck - certainly no skill on my part)

We've also shortened the alternative puzzle by one move to try to make it more conclusive for humans (no-one has solved it with a rating over 2800). I've re-set it to a slightly lower rating.

ChristianSoldier007, I can't find an unambiguous puzzle. 2...Kg6 3.Qd3 or Qc2 are mate in 5
Vipera, in view of black's Be6 defence, Bxf7+! is slightly stronger than Ne5.
vipera, Qb3 is of course still advantageous for white, its just that a computer engine such as Houdini can look much further than we can. Please check any future submissions with an engine first, using the criteria set out at the start of this thread.
Thanks for everything katonas.
Yes, indeed in my last two puzzles I tried to create highly challenging (sound) tactics, though I suppose they are not the best of my submissions as they really aren't that conclusive for humans (I consider prior ones to be superior).
"We've also shortened the alternative puzzle by one move to try to make it more conclusive for humans (no-one has solved it with a rating over 2800)" - hah, that's impressive! as the first move is the only way to gain advantage. So it is a tactic which is too hard!
In my future submissions, I will try to avoid creating fiendlishly difficult tactics in favour of shorter, one-dimensional tactics leading to a clear advantage. I'll keep that in mind
Here is a puzzle that is instructive:
I used a chess engine and the 2 moves Qb2 and Qxc1 are forced or else white gains an overwhelming advantage.
NajdorfDefense unfortunately the hypermodern puzzle has numerous winning alternative lines.

a blunder by black , its a trick one because diagonal retreats are hard to see for humans

this one is a nice knight fork it has a few variants but they are all the same. black wins a piece or material.
I made something like this for the en passant poll. Some people don't know the rule, and some people seem to think it doesn't work if that pawn checks the king. For people who don't know the en passant rule, they'd think you have to capture with the rook, but with it one can save the rook and possibly win the game. It'd be good for a low level puzzle. I'm not sure about the king's move, someone far more advanced might see something better than 2. Kf5. Of course, white's first move isn't tactically sound, but, at my level, people do stuff like this without considering ep.
TonyH, thankyou , 98th puzzle http://www.chess.com/tactics/server.html?id=425833
Thankyou for starting the second diagram with a computer move. Unfortunately the problem is ambiguous with Qd4 also winning.

Okay, I guess I don't understand the difference btw that Mate in 3, and all the other Mates in 3 on TT where there are alternative winning lines.
I've personally failed many TTs when I went for a mate that took a move longer, are all those being taken out of the system? I'm honestly confused here.
Oh I'm sorry katonas, many thanks for trying to fix it, but the white pawn is suppose to be on h5. My bad.
