Puzzles Sometimes Make No Sense

I do puzzles every day and not infrequently I come across ones that are just ridiculous. Like where the whole puzzle is just one move where you capture the obviously hanging piece. Or where the solution is just finding the series of moves the puzzle designer made with no relationship to good play. Just now I had one where the hint said “My queen is in trouble. Do you see how?” which I successfully solved but at no point was the queen ever involved or pressured in any way. Often, the puzzles include extra moves at the end with no relationship to the puzzle. Other times the puzzle will stop short of the stated goal, tho you can see where it was headed.

Are these puzzles programmatically generated or do real people create them?

I agree! Also many of the "goals" are pointless; such as "there's only one path forward"... I mean really??? I usually turn off the goals, as they mostly mess with my head and are sometimes even wrong. I've had it a couple of times where it said to win a rook, but I actually had to win a bishop. The rook wasn't even moved or threatened once in that puzzle.

I would like a way to turn off coach. I love Danny Rensch as coach but in real games, we don't know where are the patterns and that is what I want when Puzzling. Neither do I want to know the category like Custom Puzzles gives us.

I should have to spot the tactic without knowing its type or what Coach expects. I'd still want to play using Danny as Coach sometimes because I think he's funny!
