wouldnt f6 be a better idea? the queen can still escape from that but if u pin the rooks u get one for sure at the cost of a single knight

I assume you mean c3, not f6. After 2...Nf4, it's mate in two. 3.Qf3 Rh1 4. Qxh1 Rxh1#
