1. Rated puzzles gain/lose you rating after solving and you don't have any control over the puzzles you get. Learning are not rated and you have various options on the puzzle you want in any session
2. All puzzles get a rating and will go up or down based on successfully being solved or failed. Puzzles that are new get an initial rating, are in a pending state for a while, and eventually get an established rating. Pending puzzles will always provide at least 1 rating point when solved as a rated puzzle, even if wrong
3. You can't influence themes you get in rated puzzles.
STATUS: ANSWERED/RESOLVED
COMMENTS: The short answer is that playing rated puzzles will impact your puzzle rating. Playing custom puzzles will not alter your puzzle rating, as these puzzles are just for learning and practice.
ISSUE: I have a few questions about "Rated" puzzles found here: https://www.chess.com/puzzles/rated
vs.
"Learning" or "Theme" puzzles found here: https://www.chess.com/puzzles/learning
I would like to focus on specific Themes that will allow for an increased Score in those areas. Is this possible? Or do I just need to ride-out the random assignments and wait for the numbers to improve?
Thanks
