Save the queen!

White to move and to save his queen.

EDIT: This is a very old puzzle, I was young and foolish back then! Please don't take it too seriously.

Note: in this puzzle you should save the queen without checkmating.

By the way when you finish the puzzle and save your queen you can also check mate. Can you find it?

Strange puzzle, so easy to checkmate which also saves the queen. Another way to save the queen is 1. Bh6xf4+ Kg4 2. Nf6+ Kf5 3. Kxg3.

How did the white bishops get to be on the same colour ?

Bad puzzle. Any h6 bishop moves saves the queen, Nf6+ fails very short to be the worst check, Kh4 is the worst possible answer to it, and checkmate would havae saved the queen.

this puzzle is not standard. in this all moves are blunders!!

Maybe all puzzles should have this kind of stipulation to stop engines being used to solve them :-)

a weird puzzle, but maybe I'm the only one thinking like that. But I like the title

Bhxf4+ followed by BxNg3 is by far the most obvious solution, and works even after the most dubious Nf6?? Kh4??.

Here is a fix of the puzzle :

Save the queen without checkmating the opponent or capturing a piece/pawn. Notice that in the orignal puzzle, after Nf6+, Kg6 forces White to capture the knight in order to save the queen.

Promoting a pawn to a bishop, of course! ;)
