Shortest-proof-game challenge

Congrats on making the 1000th post on this thread. Thank you for animating this thread and actively contributing to it.
No, I wait for YidingL1 to post his proof game. You launched a call. YidingL1 responded. So he has priority. I will not work on #982 before he posts. I do not want to mow the grass under his feet.
If no shorter proof game would be found then this #982 would with 97 moves be the longest shortest proof game.
Otherwise your shortest proof game #946 with the marathon black king is with 78 moves the longest shortest proof game.

Shorter

After you find the shortest proof game for this position, see if you can find another game just as short.

Nice, but not shortest.

EvinSung

shortest is 6.5 moves

Correct. Finding one 6.5 move game should make the other one easy to find.

If you're giving up on shortening #982, now tygxc can work on it.

n9531l1

Depending on how much #982 is shortened, the legal position below, provided by Rewan Demontay, could be a candidate for longest shortest proof game, or if not, at least for second longest shortest proof game. So far I have only been able to get it down to 92 moves.

Just the normal set up with less pieces:

Synod of Bishops

#1014
Marauding Knights

You got it. Sort of a twin Pronkin. Here is another, this time with 12.5 moves in both games.

Well done, seven moves shorter than my game. How much can you do for #982, and which will be the current longest SPG?

Was the problem position changed after you solved it, or did you overlook that it ended with bishops instead of knights on the board?

My bad:
Here it is Marauding Bishops:

Correct solution. One down, one to go.
