Yes...i agree...this is STUPID...thats why I gave it the title, "STUPID mate in 4". This was a result of me not being able to beat chessmaster 8000 on the highest level(not that i actually thought I had a chance). I set up the board and did it like this. And wanted to see if there was a quick forced mate. So I set the computer up and it said there was a mate in 4. I was entertained by the thing and decided to post it. I wasnt trying to make a real situation or some sort of good educational puzzle. I was bored, and this happened. :)
So, even with this initial start position you still had to ask the computer for help?

No, I was pretty confident that I could win with that little bit of material advantage I gave myself. I wanted to see what the fastest forced mate was.

Here is a question for you. How few pawns do you need to replace with queens to have a forced mate in 4 (the f2 pawn has to stay a pawn or it's too easy)?

ur obviosly right according to my calculations this is not a great puzzle for u can see that there are 8 queens i am terribly sorry if i have in sulted anyone well no peace every one and u guys and girls are probably some of the best all over the world
