I was absolutely right. The best solution for post #501 (while not unique in order) is in 45 moves, and the knights take a more efficient path towards their final destination through the four central squares.

I haven't found the solution itself, though, and I haven't the time to do it myself also :)

Well... I had my chess club last night. I had an absolutely amazing puzzle shown to me, it was from a real game, but sadly, I don't know who the players are. [...]

I'm not sure i got the exact position, but the idea is definitely still possible.

This is the game Koskinen - Kasanen (Helsinki 1967).

Here is the exact position :

( the quutation is from #226 )

Some puzzles and posts mysteriously disappeared from the thread .

There was an Australian guy Smiley , and he posted a few interesting puzzles and had some comments on the other puzzles . Non of his post one can't find now.

If he had deleted them by himself there must be his icon and " comment deleted " , but nothing like this there is not.

May be some of the puzzles he posted were  so offensive, that mods deleted them all ?!

An important mechanism of win for such an endgame :

                                White to play and win

Your site manipulates people from some countries, selectively and becomes more and more " yellow " .

This sometimes happens (especially on old threads).

I'm not sure of the exact reason, but I think it could be if the user is banned, or deleted his account or something.
