All the time when i play chess i a tournament i cant stop being scared of losing. I feel the way like i feel when im scared or cold and it happens all the time in real life tournaments and it makes it hard for me to play because i cant think like that.

Can some give me some tips to get over it?

Just say, "I'm Tal"  before each game, and THEY'LL be shaking in their boots!

I know what you mean, I've been there. I don't play in tournaments but I used to be scared to lose and played too passive. These days I do what I call F it moves (although I don't actually say F) and just go for the win. A lot of times there are unsound moves and I lose big, but sometimes the moves turn out to be awesome. I'm actually kind of tired of caring about ratings and whatnot. I've been playing my games anonymously at other sites just to play for fun and not care what happens.

my whole playstyle hinges on the "f-it strategy"

Mickey1943, thanks for your comment.  You nailed it for me.

I don't live in a metropolitan center for chess, and worse, I don't have a lot of time for weekend tournaments.

So yeah, that increases the fear of losing because it'll take a long time to get those rating points back.    Woe is me!

If you lose, then you've learnt more.  Are you aiming to have an undefeated record or to enjoy the game, try to win and improve.
