I saw that with few exceptions that former platinum/gold members who became diamond tended to be more abusive by a long shot than before they upgraded.

It's not the diamond that causes the problems, it's their attitude...The diamond is a product of wanting to be "elite" and higher up than others, and maybe even to avoid bans.
