The Phildor is pretty solid if your opponent knows what he is doing but there is a 7 move checkmate that people new to the phildor may fall for here is how i play it:
Taking advantage of his blocked bishop by getting my bishop into the middle and then matching the pawn base
hello guys , i just want to ask about the best method to study these openings ( and if i shall study them from books , please recommend me the best books for them )
the openings are :
-Ray Lopez ( as white )
-philidor defence ( as white )
- sicilian defense ( as black )
- chigorin defense ( as black )
please notice : i am a medical student and i am also studying for the USMLE , so i really dont have that much time for chess , it is just a hobby . so , the more efficient and the less time consuming the studying method , the better
thanks in advance
