Chess.com or Chesskid?

Hi, I am teaching a class to high school students that meets 5 days a week. Last year I used chess.com Platinum accounts in lieu of textbooks but they are a bit expensive for a budget minded school. Does anybody have experience with chess.kid? Do tools like tactics trainer , chess mentor and computer work the same? How is the competition?  Can I go in and check their progress in terms of the number problems completed and games played?

I have been in touch with member support, but it's incredibly slow. I send an email and get a response 5 days later. I respond and it's another 5 days of waiting. The school year will be over before they answer my questions!

I tried a chesskid trial account and I see I cannot pick my own username. The tactics trainer seems similar, but I don't recall seeing a timer. Any advice would be appreciated.
