Club Match

Sort:

I run a scholastic chess club. I am looking to see if there any West Coast scholastic chess club that want a club match.  (I want some club in the West Coast so we can be in the same time zone.)

I seek competition so my kids can prepare for OTB tournaments.

You live in the U.S?

You run a scholastic club? I do as well.

ythatmove

Yes, I do. I have about 20-30 kids. I am in San Diego.

I am in Abilene, TX, a university professor, I have 2 scholastic clubs. My main after school club has 60 members. I have a smaller 20 member club I run at a local Boys and Girls club as well.

Teaching kids is very fun. Maybe one of these days we can discuss tips and methods.

Sure! We have the fortune of being located not too far from Texas Tech, home of one of the top collegiate chess programs in the country. Last year we invited GM Alex Onischuk, Tech coach, to play a simul with our students. It was a great event!

Awesome. Wow you are so lucky.

Premier Chess(www.premierchess.com) has a few schools on the East Coast that would love to do matches. We could do on weekends.

I am in California. I did one with Las Vegas Academy via chess.com. We met on a weekend. It went well.

An online club match on chess.com?  Not an OTB match, right?

I'm in Northern California.

ythatmove

Yes. Online. Live match.

Yes, actually.  Bay Area Chess has tournaments about once a quarter in Rancho Cordova.

They are what got my son started.

We may have even waited in the same parent room without knowing!  - since they seem to have a monopoly on the main chess events in norcal (which isn't bad except that all their trophies look very much alike).
