My clock gets deducted unfairly !

I see time-keeping problems, presumably because I have a bad connection but two years ago on this site this problem did not exist. Since then, chess.com has made changes to their time keeping. Now routinely the following happens: I wait for my opponent's move, say 10 seconds, and his clock is going down. Then, when his move appears, *HIS* time goes back up nearly the full 10 seconds and *MY* time gets deducted the 10 seconds! Happens routinely to me.

I pay "timewise" as if it was me who was stalling but I was actually waiting during this time to see my opponent's move.

The staff here at chess.com make excuses about this, saying it's lag blah blah but the problem does not exist at freechess.org. There my time does not get deducted unjustly. There my timer only counts down when I see my opponent's move and it's ME who is taking the time to think.

I thought that I should tell you this even though you have already said something about it.  You said that many staff people on chess.com say it's lag.  Well I thought that maybe you could hear it from a person that has been there for a change.  I'm sorry to say, but it truly is lag, I"m not trying to put you down or anything, just stating the truth!  I would copy paste a message nearly identicl to yours, and post another one every day becasue the same thing was happening to me.  Well, right after that I got a new internet connection.  I realized that something changed, my time wasn't going down anymore!  First thought: Hip-hip-horray!  Second though: "Now what changed?"  It took me nearly a week to find out what had happened, now I am happy to say that I have a faster internet connection I don't have any more lag!  Also about your comment of it not happening on "freechess.com", it is true that even if you have lag on chess.com, you won't have it on freechess.com becasue chess.com deals with almost 4 times the amount of games every second more then freechess.com does.  Therefore chess.com has to process many more games and therefore makes a more lag.  Again, I"m not a profesional, just from one friend to another.
