Fast chess rules

New around here. Where can I find the rules of the fast chess games?

—how long per move?

—how is winner decided?

Thanks.

it doesnt matter how long it takes you to make a move but you have to keep in mind the clock you are playing under as long as you make the first move and dont get disconnected you can take as long as you want to move under that time format, but if you take too long you will simply just time out and your oppoent will win under the time constraint.

The winner is decided at the end of the time regardless of who is winning or not, if the time runs out on the guy who is winning his opponent wins, if you dont have suffecient material to mate a king and your opponent runs out of time, its then considered a draw, for example if you have a bishop and king to your opponents king and pawn.  Also if you are at the end of the game and your oppoent has a biship and king and you have a knight and k ing the game is considered a draw as no one can win under that circumstance.  Other than that the game is over when you have put your opponents king  in check and there is no legal move for him to go or vice versa.  Ask more questions if you like we are always here to answer and have fun happy.png

I should have been clearer. I’m not asking as a player, just as a spectator of the championship 5 minute games. If the traditional ways ending a game, e.g, checkmate, are not reached within the 5 minutes who wins?

the one with time left wins there is no other way lol grin.png

both cannot run out of time at the same exact time so the one with time left, even .1 wins.

There is another way, resignation.

Over the-board, using analogue clocks, only one flag can fall first, but if a player is inattentive at the clock (and so do other spectators) and both flags end up falling, it can be a different story.
