Start of next round while still games in previous round are in progress

Hi,

I've noticed that in a tournament round 2 will start if all advancing players of round 1 are known, even when there are still games between lower placed players ongoing.

Now I noticed this situation where in one group there is only one game left, B vs C:

  A B C D E Points
A x 1 2 2 2 7
B 1 x 0.5 2 2 5.5
C 0 0.5 x 2 2 4.5
D 0 0 0 x 2 2
E 0 0 0 0 x 0

Only chance for C to advance is to win this game. But even then, the result will be

  A B C D E Points
A x 1 2 2 2 7
B 1 x 0.5 2 2 5.5 13.75
C 0 1.5 x 2 2 5.5 12.25
D 0 0 0 x 2 2
E 0 0 0 0 x 0

So, A and B could already be highlighted as they will advance. But that's not the case, see heer in group 7: https://www.chess.com/tournament/winter-solstice-2017/pairings

Did I miscalculated?

A bit late, but

I think your math is correct. I remember in one instance of a tournament, if there's a chance for Player C to TIE Player B, even if they will lose out on tiebreaks, then chess.com will not start the next round, yet.
