I have been coaching beginner level chess for almost a year now at a reputable school in Seoul, South Korea; teaching young children not only strategy and basic principles, but also what makes chess so much fun to learn. These students have developed remarkably well (in my humble opinion!) and are reaching a level where some might be ready to dip their toes into tournament play - which I'm very proud of.

I also have experience in 1-to-1 coaching for adults who are keen to get a better grasp of the fundamentals of chess. By using master level games as examples, coaching through positions and games that the students themselves played, and taking them step by step through important tactical motifs, I am a capable coach for people of all ages.

Being a slow player myself, I would recommend myself as a coach to those who are rated 1400 and below in rapid chess and look for a boost in understanding or a concrete foundation for their chess play.

제 한국어 말하기 수준은 그리 강하지는 않지만 한국어로 대충 의사소통을 할 정도로 능숙해요. 하지만, 저의 수업은 모두 영어로 진행될 것이에요.

저는 한국의 서울에 있는 평판이 좋은 학교에서 거의 1년 동안 초보자 수준의 체스를 지도해 왔어요; 어린 아이들에게 전략과 기본 원칙뿐만 아니라 체스를 배우는 것을 매우 재미있게 만드는 것도 가르쳐요. 이 학생들은 (저의 겸손한 생각으로) 놀라울 정도로 잘 발전했고, 몇몇 학생들이 토너먼트 플레이에 발을 담글 준비가 되어 있는 수준에 도달하고 있어요 - 저는 매우 자랑스러워요.

저는 또한 체스의 기본을 더 잘 이해하기를 열망하는 어른들을 위한 일대일 코칭 경험이 있아요. 마스터 레벨의 게임을 예로 들며 학생들이 직접 플레이한 포지션과 게임을 통해 코칭하고 중요한 전술 모티브를 통해 단계적으로 이끌어가는 저는 모든 연령대의 사람들에게 유능한 코치예요.

저 자신이 느린 선수이기 때문에, 저는 래피드 체스에서 1400점 이하의 등급을 받은 사람들에게 저 자신을 코치로 추천하고 그들의 체스 플레이를 위한 이해의 증진이나 구체적인 기반을 찾고 싶어요.
