The Hague opts out. We find two matches per month too tight a playing schedule. As I stated in the discussion in the WCL forum, our preference is a competition in a closed group of 10 teams or so that has one match per month and covers the largest part of the year.

Well, technically, schedule for D3 is still not published.

Indeed, we based our decision on the timetable announced for Division 2, assuming that it would be similar for Division 3.

Teams in Division 3 will not have to play 11 matches as in Divisions 1 and 2 but only 6 or 7 matches. Furthemore, matches played in WCL can count for ECL2016.

Matches for Division 3 will start on April.

My point was not so much the number of games but rather the frequency. We find two matches per month too much, one match per month would be OK.

Actually, I don't get the idea of match result recycling as in your suggestion. I do understand match bundling, if both competitions are parallel (like EL and WL). But recycling the result from a match in the past? Would the loser of a match ever accept this?

Avatar of Anastasakis

It is common on EL and on WL to play one match, why not here?

Avatar of RainPiper

This is just the difference I wanted to make: In the WL/EL it is announced at the start of a match that it will count for both competitions. In the ECL we could only recycle results from already finished (or decided) WCL matches.

Avatar of Anastasakis

Not from the announcement. Anyway, if both teams agree they can decide not to play twice.

Absolutely agree - most normal tournaments have 1 match per month.

The loser might - just to try and preserve sanity and negotiate such an (uneccesarily) crowded calendar!

I didnt understand that, that teams from division 3 can play 6-7 games.what about the other games

Avatar of Anastasakis

8 teams will form the Division 3, that means 7 matches for each team. 4 of them will move up to Division 2.
