Standing Down

Hello all

Due to unforeseen and personal circumstances, it is with sad regret that I am unable to contribute with this group as much as I would like to.  Thus, it is with great sadness that I will have to step down as Organiser.

If anyone is able to continue supporting this group and organise a Chess.com UK Tournament, please feel free to volunteer.

This post depends upon a lot of effort and determination but I will be happy if someone else is able to get this organised this year.

If there are any volunteers for the post, please feel free to nominate or request nomination amongst the rest of the group.

If you require any advice, I will be able to provide some occassional help.  Meanwhile, I will keep an eye on the group and evolution of the event.  You can rest assured, I will be coming to the Chess Tournament and will help as much as possible.

With my kind regards,

Martin Sketchley

I am sorry to hear this news Martin this was your baby and your brain child. It is with your vision that this was even thought of so it is going to be sad to see you standing down.

However time moves on and it is good to see you will still be round to see what happens ... with that information I am nominating myself as organiser ...

I think my passion for this project has shone through and my determination is second to none.

I WILL need help with it but I do feel I can (with the right support) get this sorted!!

Sorry to hear Martin is stepping down hope everything is allright.

I second that Donna should take over as organiser and offer any help she may need over the next couple of months.

You deserve thanks for getting this idea going in the first place.

Donna, I would like to help out in this as well, obviously I second you to do this, you'll be awesome! I'll get you some contacts for chess supplies, CCF mindgames would be the one I go for

I would like to mention my appreciation and thanks for Donna in deciding to pursue this further.  Best of luck for achieving a tournament.  Like I mentioned, I am absolutely busy with different projects and it wasn't viable for me to continue to pursue a project (with all my best intentions) which I couldn't dedicate 100% on.

I will be watching this and am quite keen to see this a success.  I will also be willing to participate in such an event.

A year later - is there any further progress?
