This was a group exchanged to me by Coridae_Corvus, but it's not taking off like I expected it too. I can't really think of a philosophy for it, that seems to be the main problem. I also have 120+ games in progress, and am focusing 95% of my time into FOR LINCOLN APP! and In a fog this chess year? which have 14 and 38 members, respectively. So if someone could either help me out, or if I could exchange it, I would be happy to, but mainly I want someone to help me out. Thank you.

It only has two members and a bad group profile. It seems to me he handed you a unfinished thought. You should scrap it and make that into a admin only group for a group you care about. MhoSmile

YFIOTR

wow, u should forget about that group. :p

Corvidae_Corvus

umm yeah, it was a starter group that i didnt want to do anymore, thats why i listed it. I assumed you were aware of the work involved.

That is more than work. That is finish my thought for me and make it work. He should follow my advice and scrap it. See this is a "starter group". It is a complete thought, please fell free to check it out.

Oh put your big boy pants on and shut up. He asked a question and I gave him a answer. We are all buyers and sellers here. And we have the right to comment on what we see.

Step 1 of a group is to establish a vision. The vision for a group like this would likely not be chess; but a place on chess.com where others compare recipes and the like. It will never be a big or popular group, but it can be a fun "coffee shop" kind of group. I'd suggest keeping your ears to the ground of those chatting about parties, recipes, cooking, etc. and get them invited.

I'd put more detail into the group description; maybe even indicating that we share food ideas and food experiences here; then, when our stomaches are full, we play a few rounds of chess -- just for fun!

Don't try to make a team match/vote chess group out of it; that will never work.

It's a lot like my "bird lover's group"; sure, we play some matches now and again, but that's not the purpose of the group. We share bird stories, talk about our little friends, exchange information and tips on attracting and watching birds, etc. It will never be big or popular and we'll never have good chess stats, but if the members there are enjoying themselves and discussing a common interest, the group is a smashing success!

I turned it into an Admin only group. Thanks for the suggestion Stormbringer.

Ur welcome.
