Vote Chess Done As A Team

1.     All vote chess team members "turn on" tracking in the comments section.

 2.     Prior to any votes be cast, each vote team shall elect a team leader.  Another option is to have a permanent Admin leader and assistant.  They help keep discussion on track, and help the team find the best move.  This should be an experienced Vote Chess member, who has played this before. He has no more than one vote, and is to make the call near 24 hours in BOLD font.  Therefore all others do not use bold please.  If two moves seem to be equal, than both are nominated by the leader.

Members should be taught to enter chess boards, men, and moves (with optional moves) to use on the Team Discussion screen.  (In time)

3. No member will vote till the team arrives at the best move around 24 hours before the game ends.

Early voting is acceptable when: A - you know you're not going to be around in the last 24 hours, B - if there's a clear path to forced mate or C - if there's general consensus in the discussion to vote early for other reasons.  It is acknowledged that time zones may mean you have to vote with a lot of hours to go.

4.  an opening depends on team color.  If somebody likes a move, let him or her post it and explain their planThe way to better vote chess is through Communication with your team mates.

 5.     Allow for members to evaluate moves to determine the better move before submitting the team vote.  Don't become individualistic thinking, remember this is a team match; allow everyone their say so.

 6.     Be Polite - we are all on the same team, if you don't agree with another members suggestion so in a polite manner, please refrain from negative or hurtful comments.  In other words, just because someone suggests a move that may be an obvious blunder, you don't have to tell him his move is dumb or stupid.  Instead, use the opportunity to help that individual to see his/her mistake; it will help them to becoming a better player,

 7.     Resigning: should be a last resort measure, however, there will be instances where we won't have a choice.  Let’s be good sports, resign when the game is totally a no win, or draw situation.  Believe me, your opponents will appreciate and recognize our team for it.  Eventually, teams will note us for our honest and fair play, leading to more repeat matches.

 8.     Encourage participation of our lower rated members to get involved with our team matches.

  9.    When we are victorious, post a team note regarding our win.

 10.    When we lose, congratulate the opposing team, and perhaps request a re-match.

I hope this will help bring our vote chess team matches more coordination and success in the future.
